Semi-final 2 (16.05.19.)

1: Srbuk - Walking Out (Armenia)
Ooh, that's a strong beginning. Chorus is a bit of a disappointment, though. I say "a bit" because I was kind of expecting it, really.

2: Sarah McTernan - 22 (Ireland)
I like the graphics at the back and the general aesthetic, but... this is not an exciting tune. That chorus... she sounds like she's half-asleep

3: Anna Odobescu - Stay (Moldova)
Okay, this one's got a little bit of life to it! The chorus is less rubbish than in the previous two songs, hallelujah. Liking the cheese factor. Good level of cheese.

4: Luca Hänni - She Got Me (Switzerland)
Hmmh. It's alright. The bit after the chorus doesn't go hard enough for the bridge-esque chorus to work.

5: Carousel - That Night (Latvia)
Okay. This is sounding pretty nice. Got me doing a suitable side-to-side headbop. Nice and gentle.

6: Ester Peony - On a Sunday (Romania)
Ooh. Are this lot friends with Iceland, by any chance? Oooooh. Think I like that chorus. Cool overall sound. She has a nice voice.

7: Leonora - Love Is Forever (Denmark)
"Travel the world to see the ruins of what has been" WOW okay. That's... an interesting opening line for such a cute-sounding song xD Ahahaha I think I like this. OOH FRENCH, NOICE!! OOOH LOTS OF LANGUAGES! Ahaha this is cute af, bless this song

8: John Lundvik - Too Late For Love (Sweden)
SWEDEN. SWEEEDEN SWEDEN SWEDEN. YOU HAVE DONE A GOOD.

9: PÆNDA - Limits (Austria)
Ehhhhhh. It's alright.

10: Roko - The Dream (Croatia)
Good cheese factor. It doesn't move me immediately, but I can- OOOOH CROATIAN!! Uh yeah, I can- KEY CHANGE KEY HCMAHBJN!!!BLKFNKF Okay, that's it, I like this one

11: Michela - Chameleon (Malta)
Oh nice, some life! OH. OHHHH THE CHORUS. That's different. Me likey!

12: Jurij Veklenko - Run with the Lions (Lithuania)
Ooooh he can sing high. Nice. Chorus is just... okay, though. Eh.

13: Sergey Lazarev - Scream (Russia)
Oh hey, Sergey. Hmmm. This one could grow on me. Sort of unfortunate to be yet another ballad after the snorefest that has been this semi-final so far. Buuut... maybe I like this one. Good cheese factor.

14: Jonida Maliqi - Ktheju tokës (Albania)
Oooooh, nice beginning. Language bonus points. Ohhhhh yes, I think I like this. Nice and dramatic.

15: KEiiNO - Spirit in the Sky (Norway)
OH. That bald guy. Okay. Chorus sounds like... maybe Finland last year, I think? Except for Surprising Bald Guy. Surprising Bald Guy is definitely the best thing about this song. Can we take the other two off the stage and just have Surprising Bald Guy sing?

16: Duncan Laurence - Arcade (The Netherlands)
Hmmmmmm. This one seems pretty nice. Strong verse and bridge. Chorus could grow on me.

17: Tamara Todevska - Proud (North Macedonia)
Ohhh, nice lyrics. Think I like that chorus! Are the lyrics in the chorus basically saying, "Girls, let the salt fuel you"? Cause HELL YES to that message

18: Chingiz - Truth (Azerbaijan)
Oh! Robo laser arms. Interesting. Okay, alright chorus! This one could grow on me. Impressive long note near the end.

Faves: Croatia and Malta! Honourable mentions to Romania, Albania, and North Macedonia.

Results: Three out of five this time. How the fuck did Croatia not go through though WTF. Blatant best. Anyway, I'd thought the first semi-final was poor, but this one was PISS poor. Gawd. Sad times. Also I tried to vote for Croatia via the app, but it wouldn't let me do anything even though the UK was allowed to vote tonight??????
Gweh. Iceland FTW. Fucking vote Iceland so that next year might actually have a bit of goddamn life to it LMAO. This sangria was good, I love being squiffy. GUTE NACHT
