Semi-final 2 (24.05.12.)
1: Željko Joksimović - Nije ljubav stvar (Serbia)
Sorry Mr. Joksimović, this one's a bit boring TBH. You might have spoilt us a bit all those years back with 'Lane Moje', though.
2: Kaliopi - Crno i belo (Macedonia)
Hah. Starts off all ballad-y, then suddenly begins to rock out. Not bad, not bad.
3: Joan Franka - You and Me (Netherlands)
That headdress. And all the flames. And... stuff. Oh wow. Um. Cute little song, though.
4: Kurt Calleja - This Is the Night (Malta)
Chorus is meh. Next!
5: Litesound - We Are the Heroes (Belarus)
Chorus lets this one down a bit, but it's okay otherwise. Cracks me up when he sings "we are the wieners!"
6: Filipa Sousa - Vida minha (Portugal)
Ooh Portugal. Yes. This is rather lovely.
7: Gaitana - Be My Guest (Ukraine)
Powerful voice, danceable, catchy... AND IT GOES WUB WUB WUB IN THE MIDDLE. I do rather approve.
8: Sofi Marinova - Love Unlimited (Bulgarian)
Hah, this is an interesting one. The chorus has "I love you" in a bunch of different languages. Might need to listen to this one some more to really know what I think of it.
9: Eva Boto - Verjamem (Slovenia)
Quite nice for a ballad, but... IDK. Doesn't quite have that 'oomph' I'm looking for. *shrug*
10: Nina Badrić - Nebo (Croatia)
*snore*
11: Loreen - Euphoria (Sweden)
Oooh. Oooooh Sweden. Ooh I like it. This is one of those that I can see myself singing cheesily in years to come. Ooh yes.
12: Anri Jokhadze - I'm a Joker (Georgia)
Starts off sounding beautiful... and then... what the actual fuck?? But in a brilliantly cheesy, OTT, Eurovision-esque kind of way. Oh lawd. I think I kind of love it. Ahahaha
13: Can Bonomo - Love Me Back (Turkey)
LMFAO wat is this. Dying laughing right now. "HOP ONTO MAH SHIP BABY!!" XD
14: Ott Lepland - Kuula (Estonia)
Rather nice! Good voice, decent chorus. I approve!
15: Max Jason Mai - Don't Close Your Eyes (Slovakia)
ROCKING. OUT. THE. EUROVISION. Hell fuck yeah. This had better get through to the final!
16: Tooji - Stay (Norway)
Cute guy, and nice electronic sound. Chorus lets it down, though.
17: Maya Sar - Korake ti znam (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Languages like Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian sound so beautiful in song. Ahhh. Not sure I'm too fond of this 'un, though. Still, nice shoulder pads going on there.
18: Donny Montell - Love Is Blind (Lithuania)
... Meh.
My two faves of tonight are Sweden and Slovakia.
... HOW DID TURKEY GET THROUGH AND SLOVAKIA FAIL?? Wat are you doing, Europe
I mean, Turkey's entry was hilariously entertaining, but... well actually, come to think of it, I take more issue with Malta's boring entry getting through instead of Slovakia, because it seems like a waste of a place in the final.
Hnrgh.
