Eurovision final 2010: N's thoughts
May. 30th, 2010 12:20 pmThe five automatic finalists
2: Daniel Diges - Algo pequeñito (Spain)
LOL @ stage invasion (which is shown in the video above). Spain got to go again at the end because of it. But anyway, as for the actual song, I think it's quite charming, and certainly one of the better ones this year.
3: Didrik Solli-Tangen - My Heart Is Yours (Norway)
Eh, another ballad. Next...
12: Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good to Me (United Kingdom)
"That sounds good to me"? More like "I can't remember what that sounds like"! Very Eurovision, but completely forgettable. Seriously, how can we expect to get anywhere if we're sending in shit like this? I'm not surprised that we came last - we deserved it!
18: Jessy Matador - Allez Ola Olé (France)
Approve approve approve! Fun, lively and VERY danceable; gets you going right away.
22: Lena - Satellite (Germany)
Fun, cute, upbeat and catchy. Was pleasantly surprised to see it win the contest. Congratulations Germany!
Well... I certainly found this year's Eurovision to be underwhelming, especially in comparison to last year, when there were so many good entries. Thankfully, the final cut out a lot of the ballads that had dragged the semi-finals down, but there was still a sad abundance of mediocrity. Still, it was nice to see a Big Four country not just do well, but WIN! I still very much remember the days when all of the Big Four would end up coming last in the voting... now it's only us Brits ^_^ LOL. Hopefully, next year will be a better year music-wise, and hopefully the UK will send in a well-known British performer with a good song! :D
... Nah, the latter will never happen. We'll just find another randomer, assign them another shit song, then wonder why we came last again. We'll never learn.
