1: Firelight - Coming Home (Malta)
Malllta! I like this! Good voices, sounds like an 'actual' pop song, very nice.
2: Mei Finegold - Same Heart (Israel)
Ooh, I like her voice. And yay, some Hebrew! The vocal melody isn't amazing, but I like the way she sings the words.
3: Carl Espen - Silent Storm (Norway)
What a lovely voice! I think I like this. Must check out the lyrics...
4: The Shin and Mariko - Three Minutes to Earth (Georgia)
That was a delightfully unusual intro. Definitely a song to give a few more listens to. Thank you, Georgia, for giving us something a little different!
5: Donatan & Cleo - My Słowianie - We Are Slavic (Poland)
I already knew this song from when it went viral earlier this year - and I find it rather catchy! I like the tongue-in-cheek nature of the English lyrics too (sadly I don't understand Polish, but I hear the original Polish lyrics were basically similar). Also, for people with gynosexual inclinations... Polish boobies.
6: Conchita Wurst - Rise Like a Phoenix (Austria)
She has a decent voice, but the song isn't doing much for me.
7: Vilija Matačiūnaitė - Attention (Lithuania)
Huh, I kinda like this. Certainly a lively one. Will require some more listens.
8: Softengine - Something Better (Finland)
Not bad. Could possibly grow on me.
9: Can-Linn feat. Kasey Smith - Heartbeat (Ireland)
... Ireland, just fucking enter Jedward again, cause you have a habit of being shit when you don't.
10: Teo - Cheesecake (Belarus)
Ahahahahaha I like this! Seems both songs with 'cake' in the title are winners for me this year (even though Latvia didn't get through, waahhh). Delightfully comical lyrics, plus actual decent music.
11: Tijana - To the Sky (Macedonia)
Hmmmm. It's okay. Don't think it's good enough for me to want to listen to in future years, though.
12: Sebalter - Hunter of Stars (Switzerland)
Nice whistling. Otherwise, though, I'm not sure about this one. It might grow on me.
13: Freaky Fortune feat. RiskyKidd - Rise Up (Greece)
Oooooh. This is interesting. Dig the intro. Feels like something a little more should happen, though? It's like it's wanting to go somewhere but doesn't ever quite get there. Hmm.
14: Tinkara Kovač - Round and Round (Slovenia)
Oooooh. Like the intro and verse. Chorus isn't quite as good, but might grow on me.
15: Paula Seling & Ovi - Miracle (Romania)
Hi again, you two! This song is cute, and may very well be one of those that's fun to sing along with. Likely to grow on me.
I think this semi-final was quite a bit better than the first! My favourites of tonight are Norway, Belarus, Poland, maybe Malta, and maybe Slovenia.
