Ooh I like that! Kind of atmospheric chorus - hah, and nice dancey bit after that! I'm boppin' in my seat! Only way it could've been improved is if there was a key change!
2: Ana Soklič - Amen (Slovenia)
Hmm. Not as good as Voda TBH. Chorus is kinda weak. (LOL watch this grow on me after the Contest) O wait was that a key change near the end?? ... Eh *shrug*
3: Manizha - Russian Woman (Russia)
Oh, she's a tea cosy! Oooooh that's a very strong beginning, plus language bonus. I'm headbopping!
4: Tusse - Voices (Sweden)
Ooh, nice outfit! Chorus is okay. Could grow on me. Maybe. IDK. Okay, I do approve of that key change. Might not be enough to properly win me over though.
5: Montaigne - Technicolour (Australia)
Wow, nice getup. Like the pre-chorus a lot. Chorus could grow on me. Is likely to, actually. I can see this being an earworm. KEY CHANGE too!! Nice one!
6: Vasil - Here I Stand (North Macedonia)
... That emotionally escalated quickly. Hmmm it's... not hitting though. His song last year was so good :( Even ur surprise disco vest can't make me like this :(
7: Lesley Roy - Maps (Ireland)
Ooh that's a dramatic-looking background! Chorus has a good vibe! Oh shit they've put a lot of work into the staging :O Yeah, I like this. Good song, staging like a music video or something?? Nice one! Go Ireland! Our lovely neighbours <3
8: Elena Tsagrinou - El diablo (Cyprus)
Ooooooh strong beginning! Got me moving! ... LOL the chorus sounds so much like 'Bad Romance' though xD Still, this is probably gonna be catchy.
9: Tix - Fallen Angel (Norway)
Haha going max cheese on the presentation, huh? xD Nice! Not the most exciting chorus, but could be an earworm. Wow, lots of key changes this year?? I approve!
10: Albina - Tick-Tock (Croatia)
OooooOOOHH?? Chorus is on the good side of okay, after yet another strong pre-chorus. Another one that might be catchy! OOOH is that some Croatian near the end?? Niiiiice!
11: Hooverphonic - The Wrong Place (Belgium)
Seems like one of those that will need multiple listens. I think I like it, though! "Don't you ever give away my Johnny Cash t-shirt! >:( " LMAO
12: Eden Alene - Set Me Free (Israel)
It's good! Just a shame the chorus didn't have more to it. Nice whistle tone though wow
13: Roxen - Amnesia (Romania)
Oooooooh that's sounding pretty strong? Think I like that chorus! That's gonna be catchyyyyy
14: Efendi - Mata Hari (Azerbaijan)
She did Cleopatra last year, right? Different historical lady this year xD Oooooh but that's a really strong beginning. Not quite as strong as Cleopatra, but I like it! Oh yeeeahhh I like it! Ohh dannng that big towards the end! Niiiiiiice!!
15: Go_A - Шум (Ukraine)
Language bonus! Oooh that deep synth from the beginning!! Oh yeeeahhhh this is hitting! Nice flute! And that is definitely speeding up niiiiice. Ooooooh!! Stayed sped up!! Niiiiiiice!! *bops madly* GO UKRAINE!!
16: Destiny - Je me casse (Malta)
Hm. Not bad. Started off sounding pretty good, but the chorus is... okay. Needs more BOOMPH. Cooouuuulllld grow on me, though.
Faves: Lithuania, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Ukraine
Holy SHIT, Italy, that's an exciting preview! Some real nice male eye candy there too ooooooh 👀

Really like Jeangu's voice, looking forward to hearing his full song!
And 3 out of 4 faves got through!! YEAH!!! So sorry to our lovely neighbours after all that effort. Still, I think a good selection got through to the Final. Was no surprise that Malta got through - you could just feel her place was guaranteed after that performance. The lead singer from The Roop looked so nervous, bless him, but THEY GOT THROUGH!! TBH though, I'd kind of forgotten that no-one actually qualified last year due to the Contest not actually going ahead, cause in the absence of the Contest I did my own judging and ranking LOL.
Well, overall I'm pleased with tonight's results! Looking forward to the next Semi-Final on Thursday!!
