Semi-final 1 (23.05.12.)
1: Rambo Amadeus - Euro Neuro (Montenegro)
Hahaha WTF is this?? "Always stay cool like a swimming pool!" Oh blimey...
2: Greta Salóme & Jónsi - Never Forget (Iceland)
Rather like this. Nice dramatic sound going on there, and mmm strings.
3: Eleftheria Eleftheriou - Aphrodisiac (Greece)
S'alright. Not worthy of the final, though, even though I'm sure it must have gone through on account of it being Greek.
4: Anmary - Beautiful Song (Latvia)
LMAO at the lyrics. "I was born in distant 1980..." Er. XD; Latvia, what were you thinking??
5: Rona Nishliu - Suus (Albania)
Oh the angst and the high notes! I do like this. "LET ME CRYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!"
6: Mandinga - Zaleilah (Romania)
Has a nice danceable beat, but kind of lacks 'oomph' in the chorus somehow. Might grow on me, though.
7: Sinplus - Unbreakable (Switzerland)
"FOLLOWING YER WAWLDEST DREAM, YER WAWLDEST DREAM!" Hah. It's... okay, but I can see this getting stuck in my head, if only because of the comedy factor.
8: Iris - Would You? (Belgium)
*snore*
9: Pernilla Karlsson - När jag blundar (Finland)
Starts off sounding really nice, but then falls flat at the chorus. Bleh.
10: Izabo - Time (Israel)
This is fun! I really like it. The singer's slightly odd voice only serves to make me like it more. Bet it didn't go through, though.
11: Valentina Monetta - The Social Network Song (Oh Oh-Uh-Oh Oh)a (San Marino)
"Do you wanna be more than just a friend? Do you wanna play cybersex again?" AHAHAHA WHAT?! Shame the chorus is slightly naff, because it's funny otherwise.
12: Ivi Amadou - La La Love (Cyprus)
This sounds like one of those songs that I think I don't like so much but which will worm its way into my head anyway. ... Yeah, that chorus is catchy.
13: Soluna Samay - Should've Known Better (Denmark)
Not bad, not bad. This wouldn't sound out of place on the radio. While I'm not too big on the song, she does have a good voice.
14: Buranovskiye Babushki - Party For Everybody (Russia)
The Russian Grannies! ... OH GOD MY EARS, WAT. THEY'RE ALL OUT OF TUNE. Song's kinda fun, though. Ah dear... *shakes head*
15: Compact Disco - Sound Of Our Hearts (Hungary)
Nice electronic sound going on there. It's another one that kind of lacks 'oomph' somewhere, although it's not bad.
16: Trackshittaz - Woki mit Deim Popo (Austria)
Let me just begin by expressing my love for this band's name. Ahahaha. Unfortunately, that love does not extend to this song, despite the random amusing mentions of noodle soup. (No, seriously.)
17: Pasha Parfeny - Lăutar (Moldova)
"You have never been to my show, you haven't seen before how looks the trumpet!" LOL did Borat write the chorus or something?? Oh goodness. I, uh... I don't know.
18: Jedward - Waterline (Ireland)
Ah, Jedward, the identical twins that got famous for being amusingly talentless. XD They're back again this year with a song that is actually quite delightfully cheesy. Love their space suit things. Ahaha
My faves of tonight were Albania and Israel.
Ah, shame that Israel didn't get through, but I was kind of expecting that. Hooray for angsty Albania though!
